EOS1d Mk3 Servo tracking and high speed shooting stuttering.

I upgraded my firmware from 1.1.3 to 1.2.3 at the end of last week, and immediately noticed a performance drop in my continuous shooting. I shoot small 10fps sets of images(45 ish) for various online projects that require the camera to shoot non stop at full speed to allow me to cut together a small 2 second movie clip. I am successfully using this technique is a couple of high profile projects and on-set this Wednesday  was horrified to find my cameras would not shoot without stuttering. A quick call to a friend who had not updated and we were back working. The next day a call to Canon CPS in the uk and they confirmed their cameras were doing the same with the update and could not confirm the previous version was ok as they had updated their test cameras. After keeping tabs on Rob Galbraith and the progress of the problems with this camera, I wanted to add this to my blog to keep everyone in the loop. Basically if you rely on the continuous shooting don’t upgrade. BUT please be aware that this only happens in servo mode. And that the tracking has probably improved though I have not fully tested this as it is not as high on my priority list.
