Jenson Button at Windsor Triathlon

An early 5am start yesterday for an assignment for Mens Fitness Magazine.

The Windsor Triathlon must be one of the biggest Triathlons. From 6am Waves of swimmers set off up the Thames every 5 mins and carried on until 9 when the Elite athletes set off. I was covering the event with a Focus on Peter Muir the editor of Mens Fitness. A rainy forecast for the morning was nudged aside and a glorious sunny Sunday was the order of the day, Peter set off at 6.30 and I followed him until he disappeared on his road bike. I then returned to the Thames and took my Canon 5d, and flash in an EWA housing entered the Thames my self to get some close up swimming action. 40 mins of shooting in the water and I was freezing, I had a wet suit but because I was not actually swimming I slowly got colder and colder. It was worth it for the shots. As Peter returned from the Ride, I followed him around the run and this is where I spotted Jenson Buttton being pursued by a TV camera on a motorbike. Peter Soon finished  and just behind was Jenson where once again he was surrounded by media. It apparently was his First Triathlon which he Finished in 2.20hr. I’m sure I will get corrected if this information from the race commentator is incorrect.

    Hi there

Jenson was 16th in the Sevenoaks tri in April and I was lucky to get some decent shots of him.
